Anna University – update

Taking the reins of Anna University in Coimbatore, VC Dr. Radhakrishnan , outlined the plans for the University. Anna University will focus on establishing different Centres, like Intellectual Property Rights,Advanced Research centers. IP Rights center would concentrate mainly on filing as many patents to give credit to TamilNadu in filing patents,copyrights,designs and trademarks.

I always wondered how the research work done by students are recorded by the research community. If there are any papers published in international research journal, the students will ( should ) get their credit for their work. But other than that, presentation on local / college seminars / symposiums will go unnoticed if there is no support structure behind that.

So it is refreshing to know that there is going to be a push to bring these efforts into light. Innovative products designed and developed by the industries can also be properly cerdited with the patent protection.

A Centre for Sustainable Development and Environment will be created, which would conduct short term courses to Students, faculty and industries to undertake consultancy works and to submit proposals to various funding agencies on sustainable development of the region.

A Centre for Advanced Research would also be set up with support from the Government and self-financing colleges through public and private partnership, so that the facilities available in the institutions and industries would be fully utilised for mutual benefit.

University as the name suggests will have research area, i don’t think this is applicable to GCT where the prof & lect work 4 self needs. you won’t be knowing the fact that one of the most important dept in our coll gives arrears as such coz of internal politics, they threw our beloved HOD… spoiled many lives… now it includes mine…. i tried 5 times to get thro dat paper, evrytime i got the same mark with no change. i’m not sending this mail to complain sir. this mail is mainly to explain u the situation that if such grudge persist there won’t be any scientist but saddist. please do understand the fact sir, help us survive… please sir…. many are struggling sir.. my juniors out of 100 only 17 got thro that paper. many lost hope,few discontinued sir… waiting for justice sir…. all the best for your good years….

    in that affilated college it self they are open some UG course for engg that time for direct second year joining have 60 seats so the counseling time all second year (60 seats are fill through this ) or only some seats

    i heard that u are removing the engineering drawing subject from the syallbus,but doing so the students who are fresh from 12th stdandard will have no basic knowledge of engg drawing if u r introducing C.A.D. they will not have the basic concept.utherez no sense in just give hitech syallubus without basic knowledge.
    engg drawing is bit tough but that only can make a clear view to students.if ur so interested introduce this in 2nd year but not removing this subject.

    i hope so ull understand as anna university cheennai implemented this but couldnt get satisfied in implementing so.,

    please sir i kindly request u to hold on the subject as its a foundation to students or else they only be able to learn a imaginary view of this subject.

    This university is negligent about students,the changed syllabus of the all MBA II sem students with out notification to students and expect student to write assignment & exams with out providing study material.No respone for any of the E-mail.all E-mail never works.Pathetic situation.
