Coimbatore was forced to observe bandh opposing the kerala government’s decision to retain Coimbatore, Salem and Tiruppur with Palakkad division which stalls the TN govt’s formation of Salem Division.
You may think what is the big deal with this .. What does it matter where the divisions are as long as the trains ply on time. But it is a question of revenue for State Govt which would like to get the lions share coming from the Salem route which is very lucrative. Palakkad division is not letting go these highly popular routes for the same reason.
So we are forced to go through the bandh ( no doubt, school kids enjoyed a day off) today with huge losses to businesses and now the Tiruppur Exporters association suddenly realised that they were not part of today’s stoppage and so wants to conduct another bandh on 23rd Feb. in Coimbatore.
My Goodness ! There is a limit for this foolishness. If the people wants to show solidarity in an issue they will certainly show it in their own way. But certainly will not be like this by making their own life miserable.
When will the society wake up and say NO to this crap and not let some ( or all ) political group ruin our life and Rhythm !!!!! :<<<
