Coimbatore will be the next destination to open a replica of Mayajaal, a multiplex entertainment complex in Chennai, said R Hariharan, director and CEO of Pentasoft Technologies Limited.
Releasing the Oscar-selected animation movie Buddha at the Ardra Hall here on Friday, he said Pentasoft has earmarked Rs 100 crore for the expansion plans.
“We are mainly looking at tier-II and III cities. We will have a replica of Mayajaal in Bhuvaneshwar, Coimbatore, Hyderabad and Mysore within the next two to three years,” he said.
The Mayajaal in Coimbatore would come up on an area of 5 to 6 acres. The city is selected as it would be the next IT hub in Tamil Nadu, he added.
The Mayajaal in Coimbatore would house all the facilities present in Chennai, including the six screens, bowling alley, mini studio theatres and go-karting except for the cricket stadium, Hariharan said.
This apart, he also announced that a multimedia academy would be started in Chennai by Pentasoft.
